POLICE REPORTS
SALEM
— A woman from the 300 block of West Wilson Street reported possible fraud at 8:52 a.m. Friday, advising a bill was sent to her that she didn’t recognize. Officers observed the documentation and determined the bill was not fraudulent.
— A female caller at 2:03 a.m. Friday called police because she could not locate the desk clerk at the Holiday Inn Express on North Cunningham Road. Officers responded to check on the clerk’s well-being. She was fine and was located cleaning a room.
— A suspicious male was reported walking around a business in the 100 block of West State Street wearing a black hooded sweatshirt standing yelling to no one in particular at 10:26 p.m. Thursday. The male was a known person to police who appeared to be ok to officers.
— An officer at 10:17 p.m. Thursday saw several people and a white van behind Dollar General at the Salem Plaza on East State Street and made contact to assure no illegal dumping was taking place. The officer discovered a person was looking for food in the dumpster that had been thrown out by the business. He was told the business may not approve of someone rummaging through the dumpster and to be aware of that in the future. The person left.
— Glenn Drazic, 61, Northville, Mich., was charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools after police responded at 7:48 p.m. Thursday to the 100 block of South Howard Avenue to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an investigation. Officers made contact with a male in a black Dodge Challenger. He was taken into custody and taken to jail.
— An intoxicated driver was reported in a red Ford truck entering the city on North Ellsworth Avenue at 6:54 p.m. Thursday. The caller followed the truck which then turned and left the city. Officers were able to catch up in the area of the state Route 45 bypass and North Lincoln Avenue and stopped the vehicle. Officers saw no signs of impairment regarding the driver.
— Police were called at 3:56 p.m. Thursday for a clear bottle with a baggie and a pill located in the Walmart parking lot. Officers disposed of the bottle properly.
— Katona Mutton, 18, East Third Street, was cited for failure to yield after pulling from a private drive onto Newgarden Avenue and striking a southbound vehicle driven by Tara Silva, 34, Newgarden Avenue, at 11:55 a.m. Thursday.
GOSHEN POLICE DISTRICT
– Gavin Alexander Clark, 25, Youngstown, was cited for failure to obey traffic control devices following a two-vehicle crash at state route 165 and Lisbon Road at 11:24 a.m. Jan. 10 in which he was southbound and failed to stop at the stop sign, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Edward Lamont Smith, 49, Youngstown. No injuries were reported.
– Timothy Ralph Boggs, 29, Raley Raod, New Waterford, was cited for driving under suspension following a one-vehicle crash on state Route 14 near Pine Lake Road at 8:29 p.m. Jan. 10 in which he was southeastbound and lost control of his vehicle, traveling off the north side of the roadway into a ditch and overturning onto the vehicle’s side. He was treated on scene by Damascus EMS for possible injuries.
– Casey M. Miner, 21, West Middletown Road, Beloit, was cited for criminal trespass, failure to comply with a police order, driving under suspension, reckless operation on private property and open container after an officer responded to the Goshen Community Park on West Middletown Road at 10:22 p.m. Jan. 12 where he was allegedly doing donuts with his truck then fled the scene, leading the officer on a pursuit up to 70 miles per hour to his home in the 15000 block of West Middletown Road.
– Delanie Marie Burnell, 20, Parkview Drive, Columbiana, was cited for driving under suspension and speeding following a traffic stop on state Route 14 near Beaver Creek Road at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 14.
– Misty D. Hughes, 51, South 15th Street, Sebring, was cited for right of way on public roadways following a two-vehicle crash in the 14000 block of South Main Street, Beloit, at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 14 in which she was exiting the West Branch High School north driveway in a school bus, striking a northbound vehicle driven by Mayson A. Wimsatt, 26, Homeworth. No injuries were reported.
– Willard R. McAllister Jr., 51, East Seventh Street, Salem, was cited for OVI and lanes of travel following a traffic stop on state Route 14 and state Route 534 at 12:36 a.m. Jan. 15.
– Carmen S. Guerra, 39, homeless, was charged with fourth-degree felony burglary after officers responded to a 17000 block Fifth Street, Beloit, home at 2:20 a.m. where she had allegedly broken into through a window to retrieve her animals and property after being locked out. The residents reported hearing banging on the door and then a window break, and that Guerra no longer lived there.
– Bruce Wayne Rodkey, 45, Johnson Avenue NE, Alliance, was turned over to Goshen police by the Alliance Police Department Wednesday on a warrant for a protection order violation for emailing the victim several times since the past two months and more.
– Nicholas Joseph D’Amico, 23, Mineral Ridge, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 165 at U.S. Route 62 at 2:25 a.m. Jan. 22.
– Brian S. Amon, 51, South Main Street, Beloit, turned himself in Thursday on a warrant for domestic violence for allegedly choking his wife during an argument Jan. 23.
COLUMBIANA
— John Susan reported Gennaro Moscato shooting his pet cat with a pellet gun in Lynn’s Mobile Home Park Thursday afternoon.
— Officers cited Skylar Morton, 26, of New Waterford for speed and driving under suspension on State Route 14 Thursday afternoon.
EAST PALESTINE
— On the morning of Jan. 18 an officer spoke with two West Martin Street residents about a verbal altercation regarding a parking spot. The officer advised the neighbors to remain civil and leave each other alone.
— Officers responded to a home on South Market Street Jan. 17 for a domestic issue.
— A woman reported telecommunication and criminal trespassing from a woman she referred to as her boyfriends ex Jan. 15 after the ex parked her car in the woman’s driveway.
— A concerned parent reported underage persons engaging in telecommunications harassment Jan. 14.
— Officers arrested Sara C. Noling on an arrest warrant Jan. 14. Noling was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business after officers found Noling hiding under the bed. Officers located suspected methamphetamine, several cell phones, laptops and other items related to the theft of financial tools and documents for a deceased person.
— A motorist reported a truck striking one of the rail crossing gates on North Market Street Jan 20.
— On Jan. 19 officers responded to a suspicious person complaint on West High Street after a woman heard pounding on her bedroom window. Officers checked the area and only found animal tracks in the snow.
— A man spoke with officers on station about his car being keyed overnight Jan. 20.
— A man on West Grant Street reported someone shoveling snow into a pile on his driveway Jan. 18. An officer advised the individual to leave the property and not return.
— Officers spoke with a resident on station Jan. 18 regarding unemployment fraud.
— Police spoke with a mother and adult son involved in a verbal argument at an East Clark Street residence Jan. 20.
— A man reported a hit and skip while he was parked at the Liquor Stop Jan. 20. It was later determined the vehicle had been damaged prior to the mans visit.
— The East Palestine School resource officer assisted with an issue at the high school involving a student Jan. 20.
— During the morning of Jan. 20 a school administrator at East Palestine Elementary requested assistance from the school resource officer for a student refusing to attend class.
— A concerned resident reported someone watching the home they were staying in Friday evening.
— Police assisted EMS Friday morning with a relative that discovered a deceased man.
— A West Martin Street resident reported a loose dog had entered his yard and displayed aggression towards his dog Friday morning.
— A child experiencing mental health issues was transported to Akron Children’s Hospital Thursday evening.
— An officer helped a business owner on Park Avenue maintain control of a truck fire until fire crews arrived on scene Sunday afternoon.
— An officer helped a woman with her vehicle Sunday morning after she ran over a piece of metal.
— A verbal argument occurred at a high school basketball game Saturday.
— Police responded to a personal property dispute Saturday afternoon.
— An officer was requested for a welfare check on East Grant Street Saturday afternoon.
— Officers arrested a young teenager after a resident on East Martin Street reported the boy damaging the residence.
— An officer helped transport an underage boy home Monday after weather conditions deteriorated.
— Officers spoke with a teenager on station regarding a physical altercation between him and his brother.
— Officers responded to a North Market Street address to help with a developmentally delayed man who allegedly assaulted his caretaker.
— Police conducted a welfare check on a family residing on Malibu Drive Monday night after a young girl advised she thought the family was in danger.
— A resident reported his car was blocked by snow plow drivers Monday night, however, officers advised the man he was asked previously to move the vehicle and failed to do so. The man moved his vehicle to allow plows to clear the parking lot.
