EP garden club fundraiser
The Town and Country Garden Club of East Palestine, Ohio is in the process of asking merchants and residents to help with its fundraiser to maintain planters in the downtown area. The club currently has 23 planters in which members plant various flowers and decorate for the different seasons of the year. In addition to flowers, the club also needs replacement soil and fertilizer. Any amount of donations is greatly appreciated. 'Mom's Health Matters' seminar
Area women of all ages are invited to attend a free seminar on Thursday, May 9, to learn about important health strategies to keep moms staying healthy throughout their life stages. The "Mom's Health Matters" seminar is hosted by Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC), and features SRMC-affiliated physicians and health care professionals, who will discuss health topics of special interest to mothers and those who love them. The event will be held at the new SRMC Surgery & Outpatient Pavilion, 400 Town Center Ave. in Columbiana. Kicking off the event from 6 to 6:30 p.m., participants will have an opportunity to tour the Advanced Radiology Center and learn about its advanced 3-D mammography screening, DEXA scans and other medical imaging technologies. At 7 p.m. Joseph Miladore, M.D., Family Medicine, will discuss "The Importance of Prevention," focusing on health and wellness through screenings, exercise and nutrition. Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Linda Camp, M.D., will then discuss "Breast Cancer & Wellness" and ways to enhance a woman's appearance and well-being. At the conclusion of the seminar, skin care demonstrations, including Hydrafacials and treatments to diminish frown lines and wrinkles, will be provided by the staff at SRMC Plastic Surgery. Seminar participants will be eligible for a drawing for a free facial, compliments of SRMC Plastic Surgery. The seminar will take place in the lobby of the SRMC Surgery & Outpatient Pavilion. Fraud Prevention & Cybersecurity
Farmers National Bank is inviting local business owners to attend a Fraud Prevention & Cybersecurity event. Representatives from the Farmers security team will be there with tips on how to avoid cybersecurity pitfalls and common scams. The event will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. May 22 at the Farmers National Bank Canfield Lab branch at 4538 Boardman-Canfield Road, Canfield. Blooms & Fashion Show
NOAS will host the first-ever Blooms & Fashion Show, a partnership between Lutz Greenhouse and La Ti Da Boutique Sunday, May 5, at Lutz Greenhouse in Salem. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30 p.m. The evening will be full of fun, laughter, shopping after the show, appetizers, a 50/50 raffle, a chance auction, and giveaways every 30 minutes. Proceeds from "Blooms & Fashion" benefit the foster youth and families that NOAS serves. NOAS is extremely grateful to have community partners such as Lutz Greenhouse and La Ti Da Boutique who support NOAS' mission of providing nurturing support and connections for current and former foster youth and those at risk of coming into care. NOAS does not charge fees to families, and continues to provide foster care and adoptive services to children and teens in the child welfare system by recruiting, preparing, and supporting families. SRMC skin cancer screenings
During Skin Cancer Awareness Month in May, Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Linda Camp, M.D., FACS, and nurse practitioner Maria Greier, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, will offer complimentary skin cancer screenings at SRMC Plastic Surgery's new office in Columbiana. Skin cancer screenings will be limited to one to two areas of the body and available in 10-minute time slots. Exams will be provided by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following Thursdays: May 2, May 16 and May 23. Appointments can be scheduled by calling SRMC Plastic Surgery at 330-332-7383. Their new office is located at 400 Town Center Ave., Suite 100, in the SRMC Surgery & Outpatient Pavilion at Firestone Farms TownCenter in Columbiana.
Mountaineer Casino Bus Trip
The Salem Community Center is putting together a Mountaineer Casino Bus Trip for Tuesday, May 28. The bus will depart Salem at 9:45 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. Call or visit the Salem Community Center for pricing and registration.

United Quilt Guild
The United Quilt Guild will meet Tuesday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian church on Second Street. The church will open at 1 p.m. for those working on a project or Market place items. The program will be "Gadgets and Games." Bring favorite gadget. There will be sign up sheets for the July quilt show. All quilters are welcome.
Book and Classical Vinyl Sale
The Friends of Columbiana Library are having a Pop-Up Book and Classical Vinyl Sale from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The group received a lifetime collection of recordings by Leonard Bernstein, George Szell, Lorin Maazel, Eugene Ormandy, and Bruno Walter. In addition, there's a lot of vintage Christmas music including a Firestone Radio album, barber shop, marches, Pink Panther, and more. The money raised will go toward the Columbiana Library's expansion. Quality new children's paperback picture books, early readers, and board books are offered for $1 each. Plus, history, gardening, and popular BookTok titles.
